Directions to Lunacon 2011

By Car

From the South:

Take I-95 (New Jersey Turnpike/New England Thruway) north to Exit 21, Rye. Go west on I-287 (Cross Westchester Expressway) to Exit 10 (Bowman Avenue/Webb Avenue). Make a right at the second traffic light, then go three more traffic lights and turn left into the hotel entrance; or take I-87 (New York Thruway), or the Hutchinson River Parkway, or the Saw Mill River Parkway north to I-287 east (Cross Westchester Expressway) to Exit 10 (Routes 120, 120A, Port Chester). Stay to the left, following the signs to Port Chester. Go under the highway and you are on Westchester Avenue. At the fourth traffic light, turn left into the hotel entrance.

From the North:

From the North and West of the Hudson River:

All major highways intersect with I-87 (New York Thruway). Go east on I-87/I-287 over the Tappan Zee Bridge and stay on I-287 east (Cross Westchester Expressway) and continue as above under "From the South".

By Rail

If you are traveling via Amtrak, you can get off at Penn Station in NY City, go across town to Grand Central Terminal and take Metro North as documented below at From NYC.

As an alternative, follow the From the North or From the South directions below as appropriate:

From the North:

Get off at either Stamford or Croton-Harmon, depending upon which train you are taking. Change to a Metro North local train heading toward New York City.

From Croton-Harmon, get off at Tarrytown and take the #13 Bee-Line bus toward Port Chester. This bus stops across the street from the Hilton Rye Town (see By Bus below). When buying your Metro North ticket, check whether a Uniticket is available. Unitickets include a New York City MetroCard, which as noted is accepted on the Bee-Line busses.

From Stamford, get off at Port Chester and take the #13 Bee-Line bus. This bus stops in front of the Hilton Rye Town's driveway (see By Bus below). When buying your Metro North ticket, check whether a Uniticket is available. Unitickets include a New York City MetroCard, which as noted is accepted on the Bee-Line busses. Note: You can also ride to the Rye Station where you will need to take a Taxi. Taxis are also available from the Port Chester Station

From the South:

Get off at either New Rochelle or Yonkers, depending upon which train you are taking. Change to a Metro North local train heading north.

From New Rochelle, get off at Rye (handicapped accessible) or Port Chester (not handicapped accessible) and follow the directions in From NYC below.

From Yonkers, get off at Tarrytown and follow the directions above.

From NYC:

Take the Metro-North New Haven Line Local from Grand Central Terminal to the Rye Station. A taxi from the train station to the hotel is currently about $12. For those who want to take a Taxi, here are the phone numbers of the local companies.

You can also take Metro-North to the Port Chester station, where a taxi costs $7 for the first passenger and $1.25 for each additional passenger. Note: The Port Chester station is not handicap accessible on the East Bound (from New York) side. For those who want to take a Taxi, here are the phone numbers of the local companies.

As an alternative to using a taxi from the Port Chester station, you can also take the #13 Westchester bus [exact fare or MetroCard] which runs past the hotel on Westchester Avenue but requires that you walk up the long steep driveway (.2 miles to a sidewalk which is then another .1 mile to the hotel entrance) instead of being dropped off at the Hotel entrance itself. When buying your Metro North ticket, check whether a Uniticket is available. Unitickets include a New York City MetroCard, which as noted is accepted on the Bee-Line busses.

By Bus

The Westchester Department of Transportation runs buses from various points in the Bronx and Westchester that connect with the #13, which runs past the hotel. The #13 Timetable can be found via a link on the left side of the page via the Timetables and Maps link. Note: The #13 bus is exact fare or MetroCard. Warning: Use of the bus requires that you walk up the long steep driveway (.2 miles to a sidewalk which is then another .1 mile to the hotel entrance) to get to the Hotel entrance.
